Home Nursing to expand services in Southeast Asia

Business Times

HOME Nursing Providers Sdn Bhd (HNP), a nursing provider, plans to expand its coverage to other parts of Southeast Asia this year.

Exchanging of the MoU document between Mr.Yusuff Yakob, Managing Director of Home Nursing Providers, and Mr.Wong Siew Yap, Managing Director of MOX-Linde Gases.

Established in 2004, HNP owner and managing director Yusuff Yakob said the company's first stop was Brunei. "We started our Brunei division last year and we are looking at expanding it further to other parts of this region, including Sabah and Sarawak," he said in an interview with Business Times in Petaling Jaya yesterday.

HNP now has 50 qualified staff nurses and plans to double it by the end of the year.

"We work 24 hours a day, seven days a week and even on public holidays and Sundays," he said, adding that at present HNP is most active in the Klang Valley, Malacca and in Penang. Charges are on hourly basis, depending on the type of care provided - ranging from post-operative to post-natal and even for HIV/AIDS .

Earlier, Yusuff signed a memorandum of understanding with MOX Linde Gasses to provide oxygen for home use.

"The oxygen comes in cylinders loaned from MOX and the consumers have to pay for only the oxygen priced from RM50 to RM200, which is refillable once finished.

"We are partnering with HNP as they will be helping them administer the use of the oxygen," said MOX managing director Wong Siew Yap.

Last year, MOX made close to RM1 billion in revenue selling a variety of gases, including nitrogen and carbon dioxide, for a variety of industries such as electronic and chemical, and food and beverages

"The medical oxygen will come in three sizes which is 5, 10 and 40 litres respectively. Currently, the medical oxygen contributes a total of 5 per cent to our core business which is close to RM30 million in revenue," Wong said.
